Ribbon Cutting Event for Pace’s Health Connection
Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a ribbon cutting event to celebrate Pace Community Action Agency, Inc. - Health Connection’s newfound membership and 23 years serving the Vigo County community. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 11 a.m. The location for the ribbon cutting will be at the Terre Haute Health Connection clinic, at 501 E Hospital Lane, Suite 101, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
Health Connection offers confidential, voluntary services that include comprehensive family planning services to men and women of child-bearing age; education; breast and cervical screening; hormonal and non-hormonal birth control methods; emergency contraceptive services; adolescent abstinence/risk behaviors education; screening, diagnosing, and treatment for sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis; HIV testing and counseling; pregnancy testing and counseling; and condom distribution.
Rebecca Skiver, PA-C, Health Connection Supervisor stated, “Health Connection has a unique opportunity to reach our underserved population in Terre Haute and the surrounding communities. Providing affordable reproductive health services combined with patient-centered counseling, allows us to reduce unintended pregnancies and combat the rising STD rates occurring nationwide. It is very important to our medical staff that we take time to listen to our patients and learn not only what is the matter with them, but what matters to them”.
