Health Connection Expands Preventive Health Services in Southwest Indiana: Now Offering HIV PrEP and DoxyPEP

Health Connection, a program of Pace Community Action Agency, Inc., is adding two powerful preventive treatments, HIV PrEP (Pre Exposure Prophylaxis) and DoxyPEP (Doxycycline Post Exposure Prophylaxis), as part of its comprehensive, patient centered sexual and reproductive health services. These services are now available at all Health Connection clinics serving Daviess, Knox, Lawrence, Sullivan, and Vigo counties.

What Are These New Services

HIV PrEP: A safe, daily medication regimen that greatly reduces the risk of HIV infection.

DoxyPEP: A course of doxycycline taken after sex to prevent certain bacterial STIs, offering a new layer of protection for sexually active individuals.

Health Connection has long offered confidential, sliding fee scale services in sexual and reproductive health including STI testing and prevention, contraception, wellness and reproductive screenings, and more, without regard to age, income, or background. The introduction of HIV PrEP and DoxyPEP further strengthens its capacity to meet the evolving needs of its community.

Health Connection emphasizes compassionate, stigma free care. Patients can receive services confidentially on a sliding fee scale, and some qualifying individuals may not have a charge.  Prospective patients are encouraged to call their nearest clinic to request a “good faith estimate” and to discuss cost coverage, ensuring transparency and affordability.
