Live Longer, Live Healthier. Live Happier

Pace Community Action Agency’s Health Connection encourages women to take simple steps for living a longer, healthier, safer and happier life.  We are a leader in providing reproductive healthcare including physical examinations for males and females, pregnancy testing and counseling, contraception, STI testing and treatment as well as HIV screenings.

We share the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Women’s Health, recommendations for National Women’s Health Awareness:

  • Getting Active - Women should aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.
  • Eating Healthy - Choose to eat a balanced healthy diet and try to limit the amount of unhealthy foods you eat.
  • Healthy Weight - Speak with your healthcare provider about what healthy weight is for you.  You and your provider can work towards goals to reach a healthy weight
  • Relationships and Safety - Every woman has the right to a safe and violent free environment. However, one in four women in the United States experience violence from an intimate partner.  Intimate partner violence includes domestic abuse, sexual assault, verbal and emotional abuse, coercion and stalking.  Violence can cause life lasting physical and emotional problems.

Pam Cornwell, Nurse Practitioner stated, “As women we often care for others and tend to neglect ourselves.  Women need to make their health a priority by getting regular medical checkups, being active, eating healthy, paying attention to their mental health and well-being, and avoiding unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, texting while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt.”
