Pace Updating Greene County Services
Pace Community Action Agency, Inc. announces the closing of its Greene County Client Service office effective June 16th. The office, currently located at 109 East Vincennes Street in Linton houses the Energy Assistance and Weatherization Programs. Susan Laughlin, Client Services Manager states, “Due to funding restrictions, we are no longer able to provide a full time Energy Assistance office in Greene County.”
We will continue to provide Energy Assistance and Weatherization services to residents of Greene County, but will primarily process those applications from our Vincennes office beginning this summer. Pace staff will be available to process Summer Cooling applications in Linton by appointment only at a location to be determined by calling (812) 882-7927, extension 2.
Laughlin states, “We are looking at our options and are already planning for the upcoming winter heating season which begins in November.” Bertha Proctor, CEO, states “We will provide the same amount of services in Greene County, and residents should expect the same level of quality and customer care for the programs that we operate.” As with many agencies and providers, we are already experiencing funding cuts and anticipate more cuts in the future. This move will allow us to continue providing services without any reduction in staff or client benefits.
