Pace Applications for Boys & Beyond Program Now Available
Pace Community Action Agency’s Boys & Beyond Program is filled with fun and innovative hands-on sessions that teaches 4th and 5th grade boys life skills. The new program year will begin on January 17 and run through February 28. Fourth and fifth grade boys are eligible for enrollment through recommendation from all Knox County schools. Sessions will be held at Pace’s main location, 525 N. 4th Street in Vincennes every Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.
This will be the fourth time of program implementation. The Boys & Beyond participants learn skills such as how to tie a tie, change a tire, and budget money from local men who volunteer their time to the program. Dr. Bertha Proctor, CEO of Pace stated, “This program has made an impact on the participants, the families, the facilitators and on Pace staff. We are excited and happy that we can fund this project again.”
Mr. Greg Parsley, Superintendent of Vincennes Community Schools has given the program his support, stating that it has the potential to be “life changing” for the boys. Knox County elementary school social workers provide nominations to the program and applications will be available through their office beginning November 1.
