World Contraception Day 2011
World Contraception Day (WCD), an annual event recognized on September 26th, is a campaign with a vision for a world where every pregnancy is wanted. WCD has a mission to improve awareness of contraception to enable people to make informed decisions about sexual and reproductive health. Under the motto ‘Live your life. Know your rights. Learn about contraception’, WCD 2011 focuses on the need to encourage young people to exercise their right to search for accurate, unbiased information about contraception to prevent an unplanned pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections.
Pace Health Connection is committed to this cause and encourages sexual health and contraceptive education. Today women have more birth control options available to them; it’s important to know all of the available options. Health Connection wants to help raise awareness of contraceptive options as a woman may assume her current birth control method is the most effective. As a woman’s life changes so may her birth control needs.
Health Connection provides valuable services to young adults, including family planning and access to contraception, screenings for cancer and sexually transmitted infections, counseling, and education. World Contraception Day is about understanding the options when it comes to birth control.
