Pace Community Action Agency Hosts M.A.G.I.C. Week (Moms, Aunts, Grandmothers, Inspirational Women,

As part of its commitment to promote positive female involvement in the lives of young children, Pace Head Start will be hosting M.AG.I.C. Week October 24th- 28th   at our Daviess County location at 2103 Cosby Road in Washington.

M.A.G.I.C. stands for “Mothers, Aunts, Grandmothers, Inspirational Women, and Caregivers.” Pam Padgett, Washington Head Start Site Manager says, “Pace Community Action Agency understands the importance of having positive female role models in the lives of all children.  We are inviting all of our female family members as well as any females from our community to come to our center during M.A.G.I.C. week or any other time during the school year.

Volunteering not only helps the child, but also gives the mentor a sense of accomplishment and pride. There are many opportunities for individuals to volunteer with Head Start.  Reading to the children, completing art projects, helping to prepare or serve lunch, or just singing and dancing with the children are just a few ideas.  “Staff and children love to have visitors, and we love the chance to show off our excellent learning facility,” says Padgett.
