Pace Announces Second Round of Fall Computer Classes
Pace Community Action Agency will be holding its second round of fall community computer classes beginning November 1, 2010 and concluding December 6, 2010. These weekly sessions will be held on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second floor of the Pace Administrative Building located at 525 N. 4th Street in Vincennes.
These sessions are designed to improve computer skills that can be used at home, school, and on the job. There is no cost to enroll; however, donations are accepted to offset the cost of class materials. The class schedule is:
11/1/10 -- Novice I. An introduction to computer hardware, purchasing tips, and basic mouse and keyboard skills.
11/8/10 -- Novice II. An introduction to computer files, taskbar, icons, copy, paste, and how to open, close, and minimize a program.
11/15/10 – Computer Security and Privacy. Learn how to keep your computer secure and some tips to help protect your privacy while using the Internet.
11/22/10 -- The Internet and Social Networking. Learn to navigate the world of social networking to keep in contact with friends on Facebook and Twitter; share photos on Flickr, attach files to emails; and find out how to navigate the web using favorites and searches.
11/29/10 -- Basic Word 2007. Learn how to set-up and format a document, using available toolbars and ribbon. Gain skill to develop a resume.
12/6/10 -- Basic Excel 2007. Gain skills in using the spreadsheet program. Learn to create and save a household budget.
Lori Williams, COO, stresses that this will be the last opportunity to take advantage of these classes until spring. Registration is limited. Participants can sign up for individual classes or all classes during the term.
