Pace Community Action Agency Hosts M.A.G.I.C. Week
(Moms, Aunts, Grandmothers, Inspirational Women, Caregivers.)

Something “magical” is happening at Pace Head Start and Early Head Start.  As part of its commitment to promote positive female involvement in the lives of young children, Daviess County Head Start/Early Head Start will be hosting M.A.G.I.C. Week March 21st through March 25th at 2103 Cosby Road in Washington.

M.A.G.I.C. Week, which stands for Mothers, Aunts, Grandmothers, Inspirational Women, and Caregivers, is a week-long event that stresses the importance of having positive female role models in the lives of all children.  “We are personally inviting all of our female family members as well as all females from our fabulous community to come to our center during M.A.G.I.C. Week,” said Kerry Kroeger, Washington Head Start Site Manager.  “You can visit and/or volunteer at any Head Start/Early Head Start location.”

Volunteering not only helps the child, but also gives the mentor a sense of accomplishment and pride. There are many opportunities for individuals to volunteer with Head Start and Early Head Start.  Reading to the children, completing art projects, helping to prepare or serve lunch, or just singing and dancing with the children are just a few ideas.  While M.A.G.I.C. Week is a special week of celebrating positive female involvement in the lives of young children, volunteers are welcome at Head Start and Early Head Start at any time.
