Pace Announces Computer Classes

Pace Community Action Agency will be holding Spring community computer classes beginning January 9th, 2012 and concluding April 16th, 2012. These sessions will be held on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second floor of the Pace Administrative Building located at 525 N. 4th Street in Vincennes. 

For several years Pace has been able to offer the computer classes for free but due to budget cuts, cllasses will have a fee of $10 per person to help cover supplies and personnel costs.   Advance payment is required to enroll; credit cards preferred, checks accepted.  For more information or to reserve your spot, call Chris Clinton at (812) 882-7927 ext. 1258.

These sessions are designed to improve computer skills that can be used at home, school, and on the job.  Classes with participation less than ten may be rescheduled. The class schedule is:

 

1/9/12 and 3/5/12

Novice I

An introduction to computer hardware, purchasing tips, basic mouse, and keyboard skills.

1/23/12 and 3/12/12

Novice II

An introduction to computer files, taskbar, icons, copy, paste, open, close, and minimize a program.

1/30/12 and 3/19/12

Computer Security and Privacy

Learn how to keep your computer secure and some tips to help protect your privacy while using the internet.

2/6/12 and 3/26/12

The Internet and Social Networking

Learn about cloud computing and the world of social networking on Facebook and Twitter; share photos on Flickr, and find out how to navigate the web using favorites and searches.

2/13/12 and 4/9/12

 

Basic Word 2007

Learn how to set-up a document, use the toolbar, and perform keyboard shortcuts

2/27/12 and 4/16/12

Basic Excel 2007

Gain skills in using the spreadsheet program. Learn to create and save a household budget.
