Pace Announces Fall Computer Classes

Pace Community Action Agency will be holding fall community computer classes beginning September 12, 2011 and concluding November 28, 2011. These weekly sessions will be held on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second floor of the Pace Administrative Building located at 525 N. 4th Street in Vincennes.
These sessions are designed to improve computer skills that can be used at home, school, and on the job. There is no cost to enroll; however, donations are accepted to offset the cost of class materials. The class schedule is:

Novice I |
An introduction to computer hardware, purchasing tips, basic mouse, and keyboard skills. |

9/19/11 and 10/31/11 |
Novice II |
An introduction to computer files, taskbar, icons, copy, paste, open, close, and minimize a program. |

9/26/11 and 11/7/11 |
Computer Security and Privacy |
Learn how to keep your computer secure and some tips to help protect your privacy while using the internet. |

10/3/11 and 11/14/11 |
The Internet and Social Networking |
Learn about cloud computing and the world of social networking to keep in contact with friends on Facebook and Twitter; share photos on Flickr, and find out how to navigate the web using favorites and searches. |

Basic Word 2007 |
Learn how to set-up a document, use the toolbar, and perform keyboard shortcuts |

10/17/11 and 11/28/11 |
Basic Excel 2007 |
Gain skills in using the spreadsheet program. Learn to create and save a household budget. |
