New Head Start Location

Pace will be opening a new Head Start classroom in the Carlisle Elementary School for the 2011/2012 school year.  Head Start is an all-inclusive pre-school program for low-income preschool children (3-5 years old) and children with documented learning disabilities.  Pace serves 457 children in Knox, Daviess, Greene and Sullivan Counties through Head Start classrooms and home based services.   

Portia Hockman, Site Manger stated, “This is the second school that we have collaborated with to provide services and it has proven to assist children and parents with a great transition into the public school system.”  The partnership is a win-win situation for the school, Pace and the community.  Services will be provided to 16 children Monday – Thursday from 8:30 – 1:00.  Home based services are also available to children and families in Sullivan County.
