Pace Head Start Teacher Donates Hair to Charity

5/13/2011

This year, a Pace Community Action Agency Head Start Teacher began her summer vacation with a drastic change.  Just days after wrapping up the school year at Head Start, Adair Hedrick, at Teacher at Washington Head Start, cut off and donated ten inches of her hair to Locks of Love, a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss.

This is Mrs. Hedrick’s third time donating to the organization.  She made her first donation shortly after her wedding in May of 2007.  Hedrick says she donates every other year, as soon as her hair is long enough.  “I just hope someone can benefit from my donation,” the teacher said.

Pace Community Action Agency commends Adair for her charitable act.  To learn more about Locks of Love, visit www.locksoflove.org.  To learn more about Pace Community Action Agency, visit www.pacecaa.org.
